A Glossary of Common Nature Terms


SKY T.V (t.v = the view):

that huge expanse of blue and sun and clouds and all the trees on the edges and the birds that fly through. This is the real SKY!

TAKE-OUT MEALS:

when you cook a wonderful meal with wholesome healthy ingredients then gather the family up and go outside. It's good to have a take-out meal and watch sky at the same time.

PLAY STATION:

the sandpit, the garden, in the bush, a tree, a stream, even a square foot of ground, all these are PLAY STATIONS. We encourage people to spend hours at thier play stations.

LOST-PROOFING:

making people unable to be lost. A little turned around or bewilded, but not lost.

INSIDE:

[1]the middle part of your survival shelter.
[2]where you get that feeling of peace and satisfaction and connectedness to everything.

ECONOMY:

the economy of energy. Making sure you have enough energy to play for a whole day. The economy is very very important.

WEBSITE:

an area outside that has a spiders web, sometime many webs. These are wonderful spaces to watch our eight legged friends. Spending many hours at a website will teach alot about nature.[Be aware of artificial websites as they may wrap around your face and you'll never get them off. This is especially true for some children]

MICROWAVE:

a very very small wave to get the attention of your tracking partner but not big enough to disturb the bird or animal you have just found.

CELLPHONE:

prisons have cells, they lock you in so you can't see anything else that's happening outside of your cell. If you get too comfortable in your cell you will find it very difficult to get out.
